  • We do what we know. We parent as we were parented. And what we’re doing isn’t working.

Most of us were raised by parents who laid down the law, scared or coerced us into listening, and doled out substantial threats and punishments. Not many experts advise this approach anymore, for very good reasons.

What exactly was the purpose of parenting children that way?

To encourage children to behave in a way that alleviated parental discomfort.

  • Most of us were raised by well intentioned parents with inherently flawed parenting skills who were raised by well intentioned parents with inherently flawed parenting skills (me included).

How do we ACTUALLY break this cycle?

This is where the parent coach comes in. Reading parenting books and IG posts won’t cause major shifts and transformations in your relationships or your home. You have unique stories and personalities and challenges that need individual attention and care.

Acountability and guidance are essential to effect the positive change and outcomes you seek.

The approach we’ll take emphasizes changing parents’ behaviors and attitudes as opposed to fixing problematic behaviors in our children.

  • Together we will study the nervous system and it’s development, learn about attachment psychology and brain science, and we’ll learn about compassionate communication. Whether your hopes are to alleviate problems and pain, or find solutions to end certain trends in your home, or to prevent future conflicts by protecting special relationships, I can help.

You’ll be supported through any fear or resistance to letting go of your generational, habitual patterns. Guidance is required for walking this new path. (Well, it’s probably more like “climb this mountain.” But there are spectacular views from the top!) You need someone who is able to help you reflect on your new education and life-changing, new perspectives.

Together we will figure out how to turn your hopes into your new reality without judgment or blame. We will figure out how to help you resolve or prevent any struggles you are worried about at home.

  • In-person sessions are held in a welcoming and very private office in my home. Virtual sessions are also available.

Book a virtual COMPLEMENTARY DISCOVERY SESSION today by clicking the link below. Here you will explore what a parenting consultation might look like for you and your family. This is an opportunity to ask all your questions and discuss any hesitation you may have.

We can book single sessions, or a full 12 week course. Whatever works for your family and whatever needs arise, we can work together to make an individual plan.

If you decide to complete the 12 week course, all required videos, digital or printable workbooks, and book recommendations are included.

Dr. Meghan will also be available via email on a non-urgent basis.

Supporting children's mental health is something I feel deeply and personally called to do. Cost will never be a barrier — I firmly believe that financial circumstances should never stand between a child and the support they need. I am committed to working with every family, whatever their situation, to make that possible.

I took the 12-week course as a client too! Being coached through such amazing material and eye-opening approaches literally changed the course our lives. This arduous journey can truly result in a deep, long-lasting transformation that will create more meaningful connections and closeness with your children than you ever thought possible.

From The Jai Institute for Parenting website:

“Our fundamental and guiding philosophy is based on this truth: Our children’s behavior is a direct reflection of their needs (met or unmet) and our triggers (expressed consciously or expressed unconsciously). When we change, our children’s behavior changes. Without exception. So we provide a deep transformational experience for parents first.”
